■Can I use xxx.yyy.u-tokyo.ac.jp which is used in MAILHOSTING or another email servers as a virtual host name for WEB PARK? If possible how do I register it to the DNS?

Yes it is possible but it is not one that we recommend.

Please refer to the following examples or Sakura Internet’s user’s manual [Using domains (Domains created and managed by other companies)] (available only in Japanese) to register to the DNS.

[Example: In case of using xxx.yyy.u-tokyo.ac.jp]

According to the Sakura internet user’s manual [Using domains (Domains created and managed by other companies)] (available only in Japanese), it is recommended that you register two DNS servers of Sakura Internet as the NS record for xxx on the DNS server of yyy.u-tokyo.ac.jp. Please ask an administrator of the DNS server for the following registration instead of the NS record when you use WEB PARK and another email server.

The function for receiving emails addressed to the registered particular domain will be enabled automatically on the Sakura Internet rental server used on WEB PARK. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable this function.

Emails sent from internet are usually delivered to an email server once you have made the registrations shown above, but when you send emails using the sendmail program which is running on your server, the email will be sent to that server.

For example, emails sometimes are not delivered because CGIs such as email forms (the mechanism available to send questions to users who accessed a web server by entering in the inquiries, and sending the inquiry contents to the administrator by email.) may use the sendmail program.
