Support for Creating Teaching Materials


At the ITC, we also provide support in the creation of teaching material on both Hongo and Komaba Campuses.
The following is an example of some of the services provided by ITC.

Large format printer

 Our Large format printer services ended at the end of March 2022.

The editing room equipped with the Large Format Printer has currently been closed to prevent the new coronavirus infections, and at the same time the Large Format Printer service is unavailable.

We have a large format printer at the ITC Educational Resources Lab which can be used to make posters or signboards.
Use of the lab is restricted to members of University of Tokyo only.

1. Application to use the large format printer.
Please download and complete the “Application Form for the Use of the Large Format Printer” and submit it to the Help Desk. (You will be issued with a card which will expire at the end of January of the following year. If required, please apply for a new user’s card in February.) We required the applicant’s ‘inkan’ seal to be stamped on the application form (if applicant is a student, their professor’s seal is also required). Please state your estimated maximum budget for the applicable year on the application form. If you reach your limit within the year, you are required to apply for another card.

2. Issuing of user’s cards
Once your information has been registered, you will be issued with a user`s card. The card will record you usage history and deduct the charge of printing from your balance. As such, please do not forget your card when using the printer. Please contact us immediately if you lose your card. (Each user’s card is valid until January of the following year. Please apply for a new card in February)

Usage Fee Your use up to the end of January will be taken to calculate the total cost, and invoiced to your department.

Charge for printing:
B0: JPY 1,500
A0 or smaller: JPY 1,000

The price was approved in the 33rd Information Media Education Technical Committee Meeting.

Application for use First-time users should download and complete the “Application Form for the Use of Large Format Printers” and send it to “情報基盤センター 電子教材担当”(the address must be written in Japanese to ensure delivery). We will send you (or in the case that the applicant is a student, your professor) a user’s card within five to seven days.

Use of the printers requires a reservation. Please check availability on the calendar(only in Japanese), and contact us via email () by five PM at least two business days in advance. In your email, please include your desired date of use, paper size you wish to print on, number of copies you wish to print, and your user`s card number.

Please note that the required print time for an A0 sheet is 20-30 minutes, but it may take up to one hour due to technical issues.

You may be refused entry to the print lab without a reservation, so please be sure to contact us in advance as instructed above.

 ITC Educational Resources Lab for video editing closed at the end of October 2023.

ITC provides a room at the ITC Educational Resources Lab for video editing and creation of teaching materials for e-learning. Only members of the University of Tokyo are eligible to use the lab.
